Hacking garmin map updating
Here's the link to the charger forum regarding loading Garmin maps on dodge uconnect units for 2011-20. I bought a Garmin nuvi 2595lmt off of e Bay for , plugged it in, downloaded the latest maps for free, jumped through a few hoops and loaded the updated maps on my previous uconnect.
Whoever bought my trade (2012 Charger) got The latest maps for free.
So instead, Ajmal turned to Open Street Map, a community-driven maps database."It worked out pretty well," the Atlanta-based engineer says.Maybe if you just put the mapfile on the drive the unit will recognize it and update.I'm curious as to how it was done on Uconnect1 as the OP mentioned. If you are unable to locate a dealer or website where authentic compatible SD cards are available for your device, it would be more sensible to invest in a new device altogether.Suppose you are facing technical issues with your device as well (some users have known to complain that the device hangs or freezes, and this sometimes coincides with the fact that the maps have become outdated, as the navigator displays a message asking you to update them), check if the device you own is still under warranty.
